The Jaguar company has enjoyed a solid reputation as a producer of luxury automobiles. This certainly would include the XJ third generation and its X350 and X358 variations. This model, produced from 2004 until 2009 has proven to be a great car, however, it has not been without the occasional repair issue.
One such issue that Jag owners have experienced with their cars concerns fuel pressure. Upon starting their vehicles, some owners have noticed that the car seems to exhibit symptoms of being out of fuel and the engine will even sputter and stall out. After running a diagnostic report it is revealed that there is a fuel pressure fault that has been caused by LPG conversion.
In order to get the car to temporarily override this problem, some drivers have found that pressing down on the accelerator while in park can help. By revving the engine to 2000 RPMs, then waiting up to three minutes, will then resolve the issue for the time being. However, while driving if then engine reaches more that 3,000 RPMs the engine power is cut. Whatever the cause may be and whatever short-term solution seems to work, it is necessary at this point to get the vehicle checked out by a trained foreign car mechanic.
If your Jaguar XJ X350/X358 is experiencing problems with fuel pressure, then you should bring it in for an inspection and evaluation by an independent Jaguar repair specialist. A foreign car mechanic may be a more economical option than taking the vehicle back to the dealership for repair.
Search for a local, independent Jaguar repair shop with Jaguar mechanics that have dealer-level expertise at a fraction of the expense.
