The British automotive company, Jaguar, got its start manufacturing motorcycle sidecars in 1922 and has subsequently grown into the world renowned maker of luxury automobiles that it is today. The popular third-generation Jaguar XJ (X350/X358) was produced from 2004 until 2009. As popular as this model is, however, they do experience some problems from time to time.
One issue that Jaguar XJ X350/X358 owners have complained of concerns electrical problems with the vehicle. It seems as if the driver's side door fails to unlock when prompted by using the remote. The key does work to unlock the door, however. Other noticeable electrical problems with the car are the car not engaging immediately after the key is turned as well as dim overhead lights. Also, the parking lights appear to be dimmer than normal. One possible source for these fluctuations in electrical power could be due to faulty or burned out fuses.
One strange thing that has been reported occurring in conjunction with this problem is that, as the weather begins to warm up, the electrical power works as you would normally expect. Not accounting for the effect of weather on fuses, it is possible that there is a problem with the relays and the fuse box may need to be replaced completely which would be more expensive than having the relays repaired.
If your are experiencing electrical problems with your Jaguar XJ X350/X358, do not hesitate, take the car in for inspection by a local Jaguar service expert. They will give you an estimate on repair that may be a good deal cheaper than having the work done at the dealership.
