Jaguar XJ 350/358 Air Suspension Problems

The iconic British automotive company, Jaguar, has been in the manufacturing business for almost one hundred years, although it originally made motorcycle sidecars and not automobiles. Today the company name is synonymous with luxury automobiles. Their third-generation Jaguar XJ (X350 and X358 models) produced from 2004 until 2009, remain big sellers even if they do have occasional repair issues.

One such issue concerns a problem with the car's air suspension. Some drivers have reported that the air suspension system seems to have given out. They report hearing a loud hissing noise once they have entered the vehicle, after which the front end of the car seemed to collapse. After getting out of the car to investigate they reported that the top of the wheel well seemed to be resting on the top of the tire.

The problem with both left and right sides of the car lowering at the same time may be due to one of the front height sensors receiving a false signal and not necessarily a problem with the compressor itself. The cause of this air suspension failure may not be immediately detectable. It is best for the safety of the driver and passengers that the vehicle be brought in to a mechanic so that it can be addressed. It is not safe to drive around with air suspension that is not working properly.

If you are the owner of a Jaguar XJ X350/X358 and are experiencing similar problems with the vehicle's air suspension system, then it would be wise for you to bring it in to a specialized British auto maintenance mechanic for a complete inspection. You may save some money over a dealership as well.
